STAFFING FEES
In addition to the venue rental rate:
Technician
Renters are required to hire the Performance Works Venue Technician
at a rate of $26.00 per hour (minimum 4-hour
call) for all productions and events requiring the use of technical
equipment. Overtime rates are applied after 8 hours per day. Time
and a half is charged between 8 - 12 hours worked, double time is
charged for over 12 hours.
Front of House Staff
Renters are required to hire the GICS Front of House Manager at a
rate of $17.00 per hour to supervise when the public is attending
the event (minimum 4 hour call).
THEATRE IMPROVEMENT FEE (TIF)
A Theatre Improvement Fee is levied on all ticketed productions at Performance Works:|

Tariff # 8 Receptions, Conventions, Assemblies and Fashion Shows:
Renters planning on having music at their event must also remit to
SOCAN. This fee will be added to your full rental payment, due sixty
days prior to your rental date.

DEPOSITS DUE
Deposits are due at the time of signing the Contract. The deposit acts as a damage deposit and retainer for the cost of any loss, damages or extraordinary janitorial costs or staffing charges.
Deposit
are held until all outstanding payments are made to GICS.
Should cancellation occur after signing contract, the deposit is
forfeited.
Total Rent due is payable SIXTY DAYS
prior to rental date.
CANCELLATION POLICY
120 Days notice of cancellation must be given in writing or the Presenter will be required to pay the full rental rate for the period of the Contract.

Originally a machine shop dating back to the 1920's, the Barbara Dalrymple-designed Performance Works opened on Granville Island in 1992 with a mandate to provide the arts community with a permanent rehearsal and performance venue. Owned by CMHC - Granville Island and managed by the Granville Island Cultural Society, Performance Works is now a multifunctional, flexible black box theatre space booked year round with some of Vancouver's most exciting performance events and productions.
